Other Activities
As well as skiing, there’s a host of other winter sports activities to keep you amused in Grimentz. You’ll find further details in the information booklet in your apartment/chalet and booking is usually as simple as contacting the tourist office. Here are just a few:
There are lots of activities in the area
including:
Ice Skating
The Ice Skating rink is in the old village of Grimentz just
by the old church and is open from 10am to 10pm each day with free
entry altough you must hire boots from one of the ski shops
Swimming
There is an indoor heated swimming pool that is open from
2pm to 7 pm with a small entry fee, this also has a sauna
Winter Hikes
There are 33km of signposted walks in Grimentz but over 110km in
the valley
Snow shoe walking
There are over 120km of trails (guided and
self-guided)
Ice Climbing
In Mayoux there is a frozen waterfall which is illuminated at
night and can be climbed
Paragliding/Woody Jump
You can go either paragliding in both Zinal and Grimentz or try
"Woopy Jump" which is a flying delta wing that is used on skis
and on a specially prepared piste
Tobogganing
There are over 15km of tobogganing trails and toboggans can
be bought or rented - there is a great one from the top of the
gondola in Grimentz all the way to the village over 4km long. In
addition theer is a great one all the way to St jean in the valley
- over 6km long and you simply get the bus back up to Grimentz
Cross Country Skiing
There are over 35km of cross country skiing pistes in the
area

including ice fishing and exploring underground lakes
