Skiing in Morzine
Morzine is part of the Portes du Soleil which is one of the
world's largest ski areas. There is an extensive circular tour
which straddles the French- Swiss border and this takes you through
two French resorts and several small Swiss resorts ones and it is
great for all types of skiers.
The Portes du Soleil consists of various resorts including the
purpose built Avoriaz and this has four terrain parks and a super
pipe for snowboarders. Also in the Portes du Soleil are the
traditional village of Chatel and then Morzine and Les Gets.
On the Swiss side of the Portes du Soleil is the village of
Champery which is a classic, charming mountain village and also the
satellite stations of Champoussin and Les Crosets together with the
larger traditional village of Morgins.
Mozine itself has great local skiing and there are rarely any
lift queues and if you like off piste then there are great off
piste runs in the Nyon area
