Travelling To Les Arcs Ski Resort

By Air

There are four airports within easy reach of Les Arcs - Geneva, Lyon  and Grenoble (approximately 2.5 hours), and Chambery (approximately one hour and 30 minutes). All can be reached by airlines such Easyjet, BA, Flybe, Jet2.com, Ryanair Please note that transfer times can take much longer on peak weeks.

Onward Travel from the Airports

Transfers

We are pleased to be able to offer a transfer service, we have a small number of our own minibuses and then we outsource our transfers to other reputable companies. For the general prices please see our transfer prices section, however if our buses are availabale we can often offer a discounted price.

Car Hire

Car hire is often a cheaper way of getting to the resort if there are only a small number of you.Its an easy drive from all of the airports being largely being motorway.

If arranging car hire yourself and you are arriving at Geneva airport hire the car on the Swiss side of the airport as this is much easier. Please note that whilst traveling in the Alps snow chains are mandatory from December to April and you can be fined and denied access to the mountains if you do not have them.

Bus

You can reach Les Arcs by bus from Chambery or Geneva airports. Pre-booking of the buses is advised (but is essential during the busy periods), please see the following web sites for more information and on line bookings:  www.alpski-bus.com and  www.altibus.com.

Driving to Les Arcs

Our Chalets in Les Arcs  are approximately 600 miles from Calais, which is about a nine hour drive (at peak times this may be much longer). It's an easy drive, being largely motorways, but you might well want to take your time and enjoy the French countryside too. A good website for route planning in France is www.mappy.fr.

To get across the English Channel there are plenty of ferry services, plus the Eurotunnel. Try www.eurotunnel.com or www.poferries.com etc. If you want to take a more leisurely drive down to La Plagne, there are ample opportunities to stop off in scenic and interesting tourist spots. There are a number of hotel chains that you can book with including Premier Classe and the Accor Hotels Group. Their web sites are in English, often include local tourist information, and offer on line booking facilities

Train from the UK

You can travel directly via  Eurostar or on the combined and cheaper Eurostar and TGV services directly from Paris and arrive in Bourg St Maurice. Bourg is only about a 30 minute taxi journey away from our chalets.
