La Rosière is described by the
Where to Ski and Snowboard guide 2013 as having "The
sunniest slopes in the Taraetaise, but also the snowiest". La
Rosière is part of the large Espace San Bernardo, being linked to
La Thuile in Italy.
The area has 150km of pistes, together
with 73 runs, 37 lifts and 300 snow cannons to ensure great skiing
throughout the long season. The vast majority of the skiing is
above 1850m ensuring great snow conditions with the highest
on-piste skiing at 2640m.
The resort is south facing, enjoying
lovely sunshine but also great snow conditions, in fact you will
find that many of the ski instructors from the other resorts in the
Taraetaise valley all come here to ski - but they don't tell
anybody in case it gets too popular! There are spectacular views
from La Rosière down to the Tarentaise valley below.
Mountain Heaven has 6
catered chalets in La Rosiere and also a small number of
self-catered chalet apartments. Mountain Heaven is based
in the Les Eucherts area of La Rosière at a height of 1850m and is
in the perfect location being in a very quiet area with
uninterrupted views over the valley but only 200m away from the
main chairlift and only 150m away from the ice skating rink
and bowling alley

La Rosière is a skiing
paradise, well suited to all skiers from beginners and
intermediates, with wide-open reds and blues, through to experts
for the challenging reds and blacks. There are several gentle
slopes running back into La Rosière so this suits all levels of
skiers. And the most testing ski area is the Touraisse sector,
which also has some of the best off-piste. La Rosière is the only
place in France where experts can legally Heli-ski across the
border into Italy down to La Thuile. Snowboarders are well served
also with great off-piste runs and there are two Snow Parks.
When skiing in La Rosière, France,
there is plenty that the resort has to offer for those moments
spent away from the piste.
The area is known for the famous St
Bernard dogs which can still be found in the resort today. La
Rosière has won the accolade of Famille Plus Montagne which is only
awarded to resorts who specialise in welcoming families and their
children. There are lots of events throughout the season and non
skiers have marked walks and can try ice skating together with
bowling and a trip to the fitness centre with saunas, Jacuzzi etc.
There is also a cinema in the village that shows English films and
non skiers can browse in the shops in the main centre of La
Rosière.
There are over a dozen restaurants in La Rosière, serving very
reasonably priced meals ranging from pizzas to Savoyard specialties
to gourmet food. La Rosière also has a range of bars for après-ski
including the well known 'Petit Danois', and there is also a
nightclub in the village which is open to 4am.
