Plagne Montalbert

Ambience
Plagne Montalbert is delightfully unspoilt. It remains a traditional, friendly, family-oriented village surrounded by stunning scenery: the Tarentaise valley to one side, Mont Blanc and surrounding mountains to the other. We can promise you an authentic alpine experience with plenty of fresh mountain air, rolling meadows, crisp dawns and beautiful sunsets.

Plagne Montalbert, like much of the Alps in summer, is also still largely undiscovered by the British tourist trade, so here are some essential facts: it's usually hotter than England, and as well as the scenery, the range of activities is enormous. After experiencing an alpine holiday, most people just won't want to go back to a normal beach holiday!

Activities
Throughout the summer months, there's plenty to do; whether you want to head off on your own through hundreds of square miles of delightful countryside, or participate in organised activities.

Within the village alone, there's plenty to keep children amused, including trampolining, mini motor bikes, archery, pony rides and even driving mini cars!

Additionally the local tourist office organises plenty of activities including walks with husky dogs where the children are "pulled" along (making mountain waking easy), through to more challenging organised mountaineering with experienced guides.

Beyond walking and climbing, a huge range of other outdoor activities are available to keep you busy throughout a whole summer!

There are plenty of social events too, including weekly BBQs, various festivals, children's theatre etc. ; but for those of you who have worked up an appetite for dinner and fine wine, then you are also very well catered for in Plagne Montalbert.

Amenities
Plagne Montalbert has all the amenities you could want in a resort with plenty of restaurants, great bars and shops. There is a small well stocked supermarket, a patisserie and a wonderful delicatessen where you can buy ready to cook local meals. You won't spend your holiday worrying about the necessities!

The ten restaurants mostly serve local food, and we particularly recommend Le Trappeurs: a warm welcome awaits whether it's just for a drink or to eat from their extensive menu. Le Skanapia is great to have a drink or eat at whilst watching the children play; and for sumptuous pizzas then La Luge is the place to go.
